The number of global regulators investigating Apple’s App Store rules is growing.
- The U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority announced a probe on Thursday, citing complaints that Apple’s App Store terms are unfair and noting that it is a monopoly on iOS.
- Reuters reported on Thursday that the European Union is preparing an antitrust action against Apple relating to Spotify’s complaints against the tech giant, which related to its app store fees and its Apple Music service.
- Earlier this week, Arizona’s legislature took a step toward passing a law that could loosen Apple and Google’s control of their app stores.
- The Justice Department is also scrutinizing Apple’s App Store rules. And there are private antitrust actions against the company.
